subjective, arbitrary, mutable, it's never identical to itself. It changes for the one who perceives it.
Dressing up of a certain colour, first of all the object announces its form and communicates its existence.
For this reason, color and design create such important binomial: what would design be without a suitable colour? What would color be without a form and a material in which to incarnate?
In the history of the object design we moved from the research of solidity, of resistance and, sometimes, even of the weight of the product, to the needs of lightness combined with small size and with a high technological sophistication. Today the colour becomes the most extreme element of differentiation. It's the 'conditio sine qua non' of the purchasing. The coloristic restyling is almost the unique factor that permits to reintroduce an otherwise “mature” and “old” style product.
Cold surfaces or silky curves are just some of the sought-after effects of todays objects. However, the so-called luster pigments are not so simple to use and to manipulate. The packaging and automotive experiences, in particular, have made us able to refine techniques and technologies to tackle these challenges.
Industrial design, technology and functionality: the peculiarities of these substances are now available for the most disparate applications, that today include even particular resistances and usabilities for the alimentary contact regulations.
